MaNzuza and Smangele leaves Uzalo

South Africa’s most popular TV drama season four will also see the departure of onscreen matriarch, MaNzuza, played by Leleti Khumalo, as will the sweetheart baby-sister character, Smangele, played by Sihle Ndaba.

“Leleti and Sihle have been such an incredible part of the Uzalo story and journey and will always be part of the family.

They have been such a joy to work with and alongside the SABC, we are happy to have been able to create a platform where they could showcase their talents so captivatingly. We wish them well in all their future endeavours.” – said Pepsi Pokane, the series Executive Producer.

Season four, which launches in February 2018, will continue to deliver on the compelling plotlines that audiences have come to expect from this award-winning drama and true to tradition, the highly popular local series promises to start the new year with a bang by introducing fresh faces to the already solid cast – with veteran actress Baby Cele headlining the lists of some audience favourites.

The formula of combining fresh, new talent with seasoned, established players has worked perfectly for the series thus ensuring that SABC 1 viewers are kept enthralled and coming back for more.

The show is committed to continuing with this successful formula however major exciting moves involving the cast will be introduced with the new season.

The series’ success is due to a combination of compelling storylines, relatable characters and a solid cast made up of established and undiscovered talent.

Having launched on the Mzansi TV scene almost four years ago, the SABC 1 drama series Uzalo swiftly rose to becoming an audience favourite.
