There is nothing the recently elected leader of the African National Congress [ANC] Cyril Ramaphosa can do, this party is long dead, Democratic Alliance Leader Mmusi Maimane said on Monday.
Maimane’s remark came not long after Ramaphosa pipped Dr. Nkosazana Zuma with 179 votes to formally turned into the ANC president.
“The ANC is dead and can’t self-amend, regardless of who is in charge,” said Maimane.
Maimane said the future of South Africa lies outside the ANC, saying it is up to the voters to realise and add up to change by evacuating the decision of party in 2019 and introducing fresh start for our nation.
Maimane said the ruling party is holding itself together by the paste of support and defilement and Ramaphosa is only another face to the ANC.
“Ramamphosa’s first go about as ANC President must be to recall Jacob Zuma as President of South Africa, indicting him for his corruption accusations, and imprisoning him on the off chance that he is discovered blameworthy. In the event that he neglects to do as such, Ramaphosa will demonstrate South Africa that the pioneers in the ANC are altogether companions, and they hone their defilement together,” said Maimane.
Indeed, even before being chosen ANC Deputy President in 2012, said Maimane, Ramaphosa’s political vocation has been one of quiet towards corruption in government.
” He has demonstrated no readiness or capacity to battle debasement and State Capture. While filling in as Jacob Zuma’s Deputy President since 2014, he sat noiselessly on the ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) while the gathering plundered the state and stole cash from the general population of South Africa,” said Maimane.
He said Ramaphosa has remained in Jacob Zuma’s shadow for a considerable length of time, quiet even with his violations and the wrongdoings of individual ANC companions.
“His election means that the corrupt system that is oppressing South Africans will continue,” said Maimane.
