Former Acting National Police Commissioner, Kgomotso Phahlane‚ his wife Brigadier Beauty Phahlane and used car salesman Durand Snyman were on Thursday released on R10‚000 bail each.
The couple, alongside a businessman, appeared in a Specialised Commercial Crimes Court facing corruption and money laundering charges.
Democratic Alliance (DA) Shadow Minister of Police Zakhele Mbhele said before the trio appears in court on Thursday his party over and again called for an investigation into Phahlane and requesting that he submit himself to voluntary lifestyle audit which he tenaciously avoided.
“Ample opportunity has already past that Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula, organises keeping the general population of South African safe by guaranteeing that those endowed to cut down crime rates have the right skills and experience to do as such,” said Mbhele.
