Dudu Myeni and Duduzane Zuma will also be served with summons
Parliament’s Public Enterprises Committee on Tuesday set out to approach the High Court to apply for an edictal citation to guarantee the Gupta siblings testify before Eskom Inquiry.
The disputable Gupta brothers, obviously to be outside of the outskirts of the Republic, have neglected to furnish the Inquiry with information on their whereabouts, leaving the Committee with no other decision however to approach the Court.
Democratic Alliance (DA) Shadow Minister of Public Enterprises Natasha Mazzone said the Committee will also serve former South African Airways Board Chair Dudu Myeni and Duduzane Zuma with the summons.
Both of them have on various occasions neglected to show up before the Inquiry, regardless of being invited.
The Committee said efforts to serve Myeni with a summons were unsuccessful in light of the fact that she declined to disclose her private address.
In any case, the Committee revealed it has the ID numbers of Myeni and Duduzane Zuma.
“We will now inform the Courts that both are voters, we will ask for the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to furnish us with their addresses,” said the Committee.
Myeni vote at the AGS Lewende Waters in Richards Bay while Duduzane Zuma vote at the Saxonwold Primary School in Johannesburg.
The Gupta siblings, Myeni and Duduzane Zuma will testify before the Committee on April 11, 2018. Should they neglect to show up, the Committee will push for warrants of their arrests.
Mazzoni said the Committee has once again proven that it will not back down to get to the bottom of State Capture.
“The DA will keep on working with our partners over the political range to guarantee that every one of those in charge of State Capture put in a correctional facility,” said Mazzone.
