The charismatic singer and writer Danièle Pascal is celebrating her 40th year as a solo artist in the arts and entertainment industry.
She will be performing at Africlassic River Lodge in Rivonia, Johannesburg on Friday, November 10.
Renowned and iconic performer, Pascal boasts an extensive list of career highlights – from her stage debut at age five during her childhood years in Toulon, France, to her performances in various stage productions in the USA and Canada, and her friendship with the late Leonard Cohen, with whom she performed during her temporary residence in Canada.
She has been living in South Africa since 1985 and is respected as a celebrated theatre veteran who has made her mark in the industry. Her musical recitals and performance style has inspired numerous famous South African performers.
Her repertoire is nearly as wide as her achievements. Be prepared for musical influences from Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Peggy Lee, Eartha Kitt, Marlene Dietrich, cabaret, musical theater, French Café and jazz, as well as sounds from Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Weill, Federico Garcia Lorca, Marianne Faithfull and Leonard Cohen.
Africlassic River Lodge is centrally located in Sandton and easily accessible.
The venue is on the shores of the Braamfontein Spruit and is known among regular visitors for quality performances from well-known artists, as well as the high standards of their gourmet meals, with an ‘Africlassic’ influence.
Arrival time for the performance is 18:30 – 19:00.
