The people of Lephalale used the opportunity to raise worries at the Mayoral Imbizo recently held at Moses Monanyane Sports Complex in Shongoane Village.
Lephalale Municipality spokesperson Conscious Chiloane said the Imbizo is on-going Mayoral Outreach program to pass on government closer to the all-inclusive community.
“The Municipality speaks with groups concerning service delivery in their areas and progress on existing ones, and distinctive issues running from joblessness to SMME reinforcing for local residents,” said Chiloane.
She said the groups from each one of the 38 villages around the mining town were welcome to raise their worries.
“Distinctive issues including water challenges, SMME fortifying, a retrenchment of labourers at Medupi Power station, Exxaro’s sense of duty regarding the progression of Lephalale and prioritisation of work for local residents were discussed,” said Chiloane.
In his response, said Chiloane, Jack Maeko [Mayor] told the social event Municipality has a request to supply services to the all-inclusive community and addressing joblessness.
He furthermore perceived that there are an excess and troubles of some basic services.
“All troubles are found in a certifiable light and the Municipality is working attending to service delivery needs. Water need is one of the certified challenges and unlawful water connections which makes unsettling influence effective supply of water in towns and villages,” said Maeko.
Chiloane said the gatherings asked the Mayor to intervene in attracting investors working in Lephalale to compose the needs of local people.
