Farm attack suspect arrested, three still on the run

The police in Vaalwater outside Lephalale have made a breakthrough, arresting a 33- year- old man for a house robbery that occurred during a farm attack.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the arrest emanated from an incident which occurred at Sterkfontein farm on Friday.

“Four armed suspects attacked the 70-year-old farmer, and they took him to his house where they robbed him of Jewellery, four firearms, a Ford Ranger bakkie and an undisclosed amount of cash before they fled the scene,” said Ngoepe.

According to Ngoepe swift reaction by the police led to the arrest of one suspect.

He said the police found two toy guns and R8 500 in his possession.

This suspect will appear before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Ngoepe said police have launched the manhunt for the remaining suspects.
