Shoprite and Checkers say they will give a portion of all cakes sold in their stores across South Africa to help the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) this June.
The giant retail stores are inviting customers to help CANSA by purchasing a cake in any Shoprite or Checkers grocery store between the first and 30 June 2018.
“In excess of 100 000 South Africans diagnosed with cancer have grown consistently, and the funds raised will upgrade the support programmes offered by CANSA’s Care Centers,” the stores said in an announcement.
Shoprite and Checkers said they have a longstanding relationship with CANSA and to date, its yearly in-store raising money endeavors have raised more than R7 million for the association.
