Stan keeps Limpopo premiership

Limpopo African Nation­al Con­gress (ANC) chair­per­son, Stan­ley Chupu Math­a­batha was on Wednes­day sworn in as provin­cial pre­mier.

Math­a­batha retains the province’s pre­mier­ship.

The swear­ing-in of rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the leg­is­la­ture fol­lows the recent­ly con­clud­ed sixth Nation­al and Provin­cial Elec­tions on May 8.

Limpopo Judge Pres­i­dent Ephraim Mak­go­ba presided over the swear­ing at Lebowak­go­mo Leg­is­la­ture fol­low­ing the appoint­ed of Math­a­batha as pre­ferred pre­mier can­di­dates.

The rul­ing par­ty elect­ed  Mavhun­gu  Luruli-Ramakhanya  as Speak­er of the leg­is­la­ture while Essop Mok­gonyana become ANC Chief Whip.

Let me start first by con­grat­u­lat­ing our brand new Madam Speak­er for being elect­ed to this impor­tant posi­tion. We con­grat­u­late you, with the Deputy Speak­er on your fresh man­date. 

We have the trust in your col­lec­tive capac­i­ties to dri­ve the work of this House,” said Math­a­batha.

In appoint­ing his cab­i­net Math­a­batha said it is an effort to car­ry out the rul­ing party’s man­i­festo.

He said amongst oth­ers the appoint­ing  the team includes to advance social trans­for­ma­tion and step­ping up the fight against cor­rup­tion.

I have appoint­ed the fol­low­ing  Mem­bers of the Exec­u­tive Coun­cil. 

I wish this team of capa­ble men and women good luck in exe­cut­ing their duties with all their abil­i­ties,” said Math­a­batha.

2. Edu­ca­tion : Pol­ly Boshielo.

3. Agri­cul­ture  : Nan­di Ndalane.

4. Eco­nom­ic Devel­op­ment: Thabo Mokone.

5. Pub­lic Works Roads and Infra­struc­ture :Dr Onni­ca Mocha­di

6. Cogh­s­ta:     Baisikopo Maka­mu.

7. Social Devel­op­ment: Nkakareng Rak­goale.

8. Trea­sury: Sea­paro Sekoati

9. Health: Dr Phophi Ramath­u­ba

10.Transport: Dick­son Namane Masemo­la.

Last­ly, I would like to extend a hand of friend­ship to the lead­ers and mem­bers of the oppo­si­tion to join me in this jour­ney to grow Limpopo. I firm­ly believe no cause is more sig­nif­i­cant and wor­thy than to serve the peo­ple of Limpopo,” said Math­a­batha.
