Regional Chairperson John Mpe said Mathabatha’s election brings continuity that will empower the province.

Mpe expects Mathabatha to fast-track service delivery and attend to all issues raised by communities “during election campaign”

“We  welcome and applauds all representatives of the Limpopo Legislature and the Executive Council for the 6th Limpopo administration,” said Mpe.

The Region also Congratulate election of all Political office bearers, all Members of  Provincial Legislature and newly elected Members of Executive Council

‘’There is no doubt all men and women deployed by ANCwill execute the mandate without obstacles and will hold the executive accountable at all material times,” said Mpe.

Meanwhile, ANC’s statement from Luthuli House congradulated designated members sworn-in on Thursday afternoon as permanent delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP).

“ANC also wishes to congratulate the new NCOP Presiding Officers who were all elected unopposed this morning,” the ruling party National Spokesperson, Pule Mabe said in a statement.

Parliament have elected Amos Masondo as Chairperson of the NCOP, Sylvia Lucas as Deputy Chairperson and Seiso Mohai as Chief Whip.

Mabe said the ANC has confidence these cadres will discharge their mandate responsibily.

As the new House of Parliament, the NCOP plays a distinct Constitutional role in ensuring that members take provincial interests into account in the national sphere of government.

“We are confident all our ANC provincial delegates to the NCOP will carry out their representative, legislative and oversight functions in the interest of the provinces they represent,” said Mabe.

The people of our country expect both Houses of Parliament look into issues that concern their daily lives.

“The ANC looks forward to robust debates and calls on all public representatives across political lines to, all times, uphold and respect the decorum of the house,” said Mabe.
