A patron fatally wounded in Ga-Seleka tavern robbery

Update: Police are look­ing for rob­bery sus­pects fol­low­ing a shoot­ing at a well- known Ga-Sele­ka Jazz Club on Mon­day night where a patron was fatal­ly wound­ed.

Seipe­leng Ntwampe suc­cumbed to a bul­let wound.

The vic­tim died short­ly after he was rushed to the local clin­ic.

Limpopo Police Spokesper­son, Colonel Moat­she Ngoepe could­n’t give details, say­ing “we haven’t up ’til now arrest­ed the sus­pects.’

Ngoepe said on Wednes­day police are inves­ti­gat­ing the case.

The inci­dent hap­pened at Legae La Rona Jazz Club, Mok­we­na Sec­tion, Ga-Sele­ka out­side Lep­ha­lale on Mon­day night.

Unknown armed rob­bers at around 11pm tar­get­ed the pop­u­lar Jazz Club in Mok­we­na sec­tion and ordered patrons to lie down on their stom­achs.

It is alleged armed sus­pects entered the jazz club and switched off the lights.

Rob­bers ordered cus­tomers to lie down on their stom­achs while kick­ing and assault­ing them with fists.

“Every­one was flat on the floor when Seipe­leng returned from the toi­let.  When he entered the drink­ing zone, unaware what was hap­pen­ing, one of the rob­bers opened a fire, fatal­ly wound­ing him,” said a source.

Sources allege the rob­bers fled the scene with undis­closed amount of mon­ey.

Two of the patrons who sur­vived the gun­shot rushed Seipe­leng to the clin­ic.

One of the patrons who escaped unharmed, Kebasi­ile Montshi­wa was admit­ted and treat­ed for shock at Wit­poort Hos­pi­tal.

The spe­cial­ists dis­charged him  on Tues­day.
