Update: Police are looking for robbery suspects following a shooting at a well- known Ga-Seleka Jazz Club on Monday night where a patron was fatally wounded.
Seipeleng Ntwampe succumbed to a bullet wound.
The victim died shortly after he was rushed to the local clinic.
Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe couldn’t give details, saying “we haven’t up ’til now arrested the suspects.’
Ngoepe said on Wednesday police are investigating the case.
The incident happened at Legae La Rona Jazz Club, Mokwena Section, Ga-Seleka outside Lephalale on Monday night.
Unknown armed robbers at around 11pm targeted the popular Jazz Club in Mokwena section and ordered patrons to lie down on their stomachs.
It is alleged armed suspects entered the jazz club and switched off the lights.
Robbers ordered customers to lie down on their stomachs while kicking and assaulting them with fists.
“Everyone was flat on the floor when Seipeleng returned from the toilet. When he entered the drinking zone, unaware what was happening, one of the robbers opened a fire, fatally wounding him,” said a source.
Sources allege the robbers fled the scene with undisclosed amount of money.
Two of the patrons who survived the gunshot rushed Seipeleng to the clinic.
One of the patrons who escaped unharmed, Kebasiile Montshiwa was admitted and treated for shock at Witpoort Hospital.
The specialists discharged him on Tuesday.Follow us on Social Media
