The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng has slammed the Democratic Alliance (DA) for its “malicious attempts” to create a rift between the ANC’s Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and National Executive Committee (NEC).
According to ANC Gauteng Provincial Secretary Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza, the DA has been desperately trying to portray the ANC Gauteng PEC as a rogue structure that contradicts the NEC’s posture.
“The DA continues to throttle our comrades in the Western Cape legislature, in the city of Cape Town and other municipalities, yet no single ANC leader has labelled them as working against the Government of National Unity (GNU),” Nciza said.
The ANC has called upon the DA leadership to reveal the names of local and national leaders they allegedly meet with outside the ANC leadership in Gauteng.
DA’s exclusion from GNU not due to ANC defiance
Nciza emphasised that the DA’s exclusion from the GNU is not due to defiance from the ANC PEC but rather the DA’s own bullying tactics in engagements with other parties.
“The ANC remains committed to the vision and mission of the Congress Movement, ensuring a better life for all through good governance and ethical leadership dedicated to service delivery,” Nciza stated.
ANC Gauteng committed to making GPU work
The ANC Gauteng PEC enjoys the confidence of the national leadership and the organization’s branches in the province.
Nciza assured that the ANC in Gauteng remains committed to making the Government of Provincial Unity (GPU) work.
“With honest, hardworking, and visionary partners, we will achieve key priorities for the province’s seventh administration, focusing on reducing unemployment, alleviating poverty and inequality, and growing the provincial economy,” added Nciza..
