ANC plans to boost economy, create jobs, and end power cuts

The resounding message from ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday was that the end of power cuts was within our grasp and a surge of new job opportunities awaited, as he rallied thousands of supporters at the Siyanqoba Rally at FNB stadium outside Soweto.

In his impassioned address, Ramaphosa urged supporters to choose the ANC and their progressive movement as the unwavering force that will continue to steer South Africa towards transformation, freedom, and democracy.

He emphasized the party’s commitment to boosting inclusivity and dynamism in the economy, with a focus on supporting black industrialists.

Throughout the campaign trail, the ANC has listened to the concerns of citizens, business owners, and industrialists across the nation, who have stressed the urgency of revitalizing our railways and ending power cuts that have hindered economic growth.

Ramaphosa vowed to shift from exporting raw materials to leveraging our natural resources for local manufacturing and job creation.

Proudly highlighting the progress made in maintaining Eskom’s power stations and reducing breakdowns, Ramaphosa announced plans to further invest in renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.

He also promised to expand public and social employment programs, providing opportunities in fields like public works, early childhood development, and teaching assistance.

Ramaphosa stated that as we continue our journey towards fulfilling the will of the people, the ANC will focus on six key priorities to advance our nation.

Over the next five years, we aim to work collaboratively with all South Africans to implement a job strategy that will increase employment opportunities for our citizens.

Our goal is to promote the growth of businesses and invest in a diverse economy.

One of our main focuses will be addressing the high cost of living, supporting our workforce, and providing essential services.

We will also remain committed to protecting our democracy and preserving the hard-won freedom of our nation.

Our ultimate aim is to create a better Africa and world for our future generations to thrive in.

I was deeply moved by the resilience of young people struggling to find employment, despite facing repeated disappointments.

For these young people, and all those seeking employment, we are dedicated to creating opportunities for them to succeed.

But amidst the roaring applause and energy of the rally, Ramaphosa reminded the crowd that the real test lies ahead. As the country heads to the polls on May 29, the people will determine whether South Africa continues on a path towards progress and prosperity with the ANC or regresses towards a dark past.

In his plea to families, Ramaphosa urged them to assist the elderly and sick who missed special votes in getting to the polling stations on election day.

To his fellow ANC comrades, he reminded them that the battle is far from over, and the true test of their dedication will be seen on May 29.

Let us come together and show the world the strength and resilience of the South African spirit.
