The African National Congress (ANC) has sent its well wishes to former NEC Member, Pravin Gordhan, who is currently hospitalised.
In March, former Public Enterprises Minister Gordhan announced that he would be retiring after the May election.
In a statement released on Thursday, ANC spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi expressed the party’s concern for Gordhan’s health and extended hopes for a quick and full recovery.
The statement comes after Gordhan’s family issued a notice about his admission to the hospital, prompting an outpouring of support from colleagues, friends, and fellow party members.
Gordhan, a veteran of the ANC and a respected figure in South African politics, has long been a dedicated member of the movement.
The ANC’s message of support reflects the deep respect and admiration that Gordhan has garnered over the years for his commitment to social justice and economic reform.
As the party continues to navigate the challenges facing the country, Gordhan’s leadership and experience are seen as invaluable assets.
As the nation waits for updates on Gordhan’s condition, the ANC remains hopeful for a positive outcome and stands in solidarity with the Gordhan family during this difficult time.
“The thoughts and prayers of the party are with Gordhan as he undergoes treatment, with hopes for a speedy recovery and a return to good,” added Godlimpi.
