Car dealerships re-opens for business

When car deal­er­ships re-opened for busi­ness on Thurs­day, the estab­lish­ments vowed safe­ty and health of their cus­tomer includ­ing staff comes first. Vol­vo Car South Africa Man­ag­ing Direc­tor, Greg Maruszews­ki con­firmed his deal­er­ship will con­duct busi­ness under strict direc­tives as gazetted by the leg­is­la­ture under Lev­el 4 lock­down.

“Fore­most our con­cern is for the health and safe­ty of our cus­tomers and staff. We are doing every­thing pos­si­ble to min­imise any risk of COVID-19 trans­mis­sion,” said Maruszews­ki.

Maruszews­ki stressed that demar­ca­tions on the floors and bar­ri­ers will remind cus­tomers and staff of social dis­tanc­ing, adding that the deal­er­ship will serve bev­er­ages to cus­tomers only in sin­gle-use cups and offer­ing them sealed or wrapped food.

Jaguar Land Rover South Africa Cus­tomer Ser­vice Direc­tor, Sharnie Malan Malan main­tains strict pro­to­cols will see all staff and vis­i­tors under­go manda­to­ry tem­per­a­ture checks.

Cus­tomers will keep a 2 metre dis­tance at entry to deal­er premis­es.

“It is everyone’s respon­si­bil­i­ty to see through the next phase of life after lock­down.

We are doing our part to pre­pare the envi­ron­ments with­in every Jaguar Land Rover deal­er­ship ready for busi­ness with new lev­els of hygiene and clean­li­ness.

The steps we are tak­ing rep­re­sent the high­est stan­dards pos­si­ble and are in line with Gov­ern­ment reg­u­la­tions to keep our staff and cus­tomers safe dur­ing this time of ‘busi­ness unusu­al,” said Malan.

Malan said Vol­vo won’t need cus­tomers to touch any­thing includes sign­ing of doc­u­men­ta­tion when check­ing in their cars.

Malan main­tains that the deal­er­ship won’t allow cash for any trans­ac­tion, say­ing they will dis­in­fect touch­pads on card machines after being used.

“And, before deliv­ery, we will dig­i­tal­ly send all doc­u­men­ta­tion to the cus­tomer for a pre-read. Touch-free pay­ment options will also be on offer,” added Malan.

Malan said Jaguar Land Rover cus­tomers who want to vis­it deal­er­ships for any rea­son whether for sched­uled ser­vices, main­te­nance, or vehi­cle or parts sales to please phone ahead for book­ings.
