When car dealerships re-opened for business on Thursday, the establishments vowed safety and health of their customer including staff comes first. Volvo Car South Africa Managing Director, Greg Maruszewski confirmed his dealership will conduct business under strict directives as gazetted by the legislature under Level 4 lockdown.
“Foremost our concern is for the health and safety of our customers and staff. We are doing everything possible to minimise any risk of COVID-19 transmission,” said Maruszewski.
Maruszewski stressed that demarcations on the floors and barriers will remind customers and staff of social distancing, adding that the dealership will serve beverages to customers only in single-use cups and offering them sealed or wrapped food.
Jaguar Land Rover South Africa Customer Service Director, Sharnie Malan Malan maintains strict protocols will see all staff and visitors undergo mandatory temperature checks.
Customers will keep a 2 metre distance at entry to dealer premises.
“It is everyone’s responsibility to see through the next phase of life after lockdown.
We are doing our part to prepare the environments within every Jaguar Land Rover dealership ready for business with new levels of hygiene and cleanliness.
The steps we are taking represent the highest standards possible and are in line with Government regulations to keep our staff and customers safe during this time of ‘business unusual,” said Malan.
Malan said Volvo won’t need customers to touch anything includes signing of documentation when checking in their cars.
Malan maintains that the dealership won’t allow cash for any transaction, saying they will disinfect touchpads on card machines after being used.
“And, before delivery, we will digitally send all documentation to the customer for a pre-read. Touch-free payment options will also be on offer,” added Malan.
