Celebrating SA’s incredible achievements at the 2023 Grammy Awards

The Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts and Culture congratulated Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini and Wouter Kellerman , following their hit song Bayette’s victorious win in the Best Global Music category at the 2023 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The Committe chairperson, Beauty Dlulane expressed her pride for the trio, stating that this accomplishment was a true representation of South Africa’s excellence.

“This is incredible publicity for our nation. Our esteemed performers have made us proud, and it’s essential that we appreciate their efforts with a fitting reward,” Dlulane stated joyfully.

“The global spotlight is undoubtedly shining on South Africa with Nomcebo ‘s hit song ‘Jerusalema’, propelling her – and the country – to international fame!

Congratulations are due to Black Coffee for achieving the same feat last year, prompting us to take this as an opportunity to demonstrate how South Africa can open its doors to the world.”

Dlulane said these are our ambassadors, who have taken on the duty of promoting South Africa.

“This accolade is symbolic of that,” she added.
