Checkers offers huge discounts to its customers

Checkers is offering a sales weekend exclusively to its 8 million Xtra Savings members, bringing an international shopping trend to South Africa.

Shoppers who aren’t currently Xtra Savings members are encouraged to sign up for the programme for free, quickly and easily, so they can take advantage of the discounts offered during Xtra Xtra Weekend.

In a statement on Monday, the fast-moving consumer goods giant said this will be the biggest sales event of the year with more than 5 000 products on promotion.

Checkers’ three-day Xtra Xtra weekend promotion, which runs until October 17, is expected to be a hit with consumers.

“Checkers will offer loyalty card holders huge discounts only through its Xtra Savings savings, similar to how international retailers offer a member-exclusive event each year,” the retailer said.

During the Xtra Xtra Weekend, buyers can expect to save up to 50% on a wide range of top-selling items and premium products, including champagne and steak, according to the mega retailer.

“Over 8 million shoppers have signed up for Checkers Xtra Savings since it launched in October 2019, and this is another way the supermarket rewards its loyal customers.”
