Claims of academic qualifications scandal trigger uproar to get Minister Kiviet ousted

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is calling for Public Service and Administration Minister, Noxolo Kiviet, recently appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa, to step down due to claims of falsely claiming academic credentials, and to be prohibited from enrolling at any higher education institutions.

President Ramaphosa appointed Kiviet to her current position based on credentials, including an Honours Degree in Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare.

In light of this scandalous revelation, EFF has expressed concern regarding Kiviet’s purported acquisition of post-graduate qualifications at the University of Fort Hare without the appropriate lower-level qualifications.

Kiviet is reported to be the proud holder of an Honours Degree in Administration and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare, along with a matric certificate and a handwritten certificate from a short, non-credit bearing course.

EFF said this news gives weight to Vice-Chancellor Sakhele Buhlungu’s claims that 15 high-ranking politicians are implicated in the fraudulent awarding of post-graduate qualifications at the University, which followed an attempted assassination on his life.
