Lephalale Regional Court has given a man convicted of rape three life terms.
The court handed the sentences to Kgothatso David Thutlwa (23) on Tuesday, after the Judge found him guilty of three counts of rape.
Kgothatso raped his three victims aged between 14 and 21 on separate occasions in the Witpoort policing area in Kauletsi village, Ga-Seleka between 2015 and 2016.
Limpopo Police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said investigations revealed that he threatened the victims with a knife before raping them.
“Through outstanding investigations by Sergeant Thulare attached to the Lephalale Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit, the accused was positively linked to the three cases,” said Mojapelo.
Limpopo Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba, welcomed the three life sentences meted out on Kgothatso.
He commended the investigators for working hard on the case until the court sent the suspect to jail forever.
