COVID-19 killed two more people, virus risen to 3 158

Much the same as on Saturday, coronavirus has killed two more people in Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Western Cape, respectively. “Today we regrettably report two more COVID-19 related deaths. Similar to yesterday, these are from KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.,” said Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize.

In a statement on Sunday, Mkhize has, on behalf of the department, conveyed condolences to the families.

Dr. Mkhize also extended appreciation for the commitment shown by the health workers who were treating the deceased patients.

Their passing brings to date the total number of coronavirus related death toll to 54.

As of today, said Dr. Mkhize, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa has risen to 3158.

He added that the total number of ongoing tests being conducted in the country has reached 114 711.
