The National Department of Health has recorded 25 additional deaths in South Africa, bringing the total number of fatalities to 88 317 to date.
The department has reported an increase of 648 COVID-19 new cases in the last 24-hour reporting cycle, bringing the total to 2,912,145.
The cumulative number of recoveries now stands at 2 791 256 with a recovery rate of 95,8 percent.
