Crème De La Crème of African footballers to watch at the Qatar World Cup 2022

African football fans are eagerly looking forward to the 2022 World Cup. This year, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon, and Morocco will be representing the African region at the World Cup finals in Qatar.

Some of the top players to watch include Sadio Mané from Senegal, Kalidou Koulibaly from Senegal, and Édouard Mendy from Cameroon. These players are sure to demonstrate the strength of African football heading into the World Cup.

According to Seatpick.com while Egypt did not qualify for the upcoming World Cup Mohamed Salah, the best active African footballer in the world would not play in the tournament.

FIFA ranks the “Egyptian King” sixth in the world, and he has helped his club Liverpool win numerous prestigious trophies.

Seatpick.com said however, football fans can still see the winger tearing defences apart in other football competitions such as the English Premier League and the European Champions League.

Salah’s former Liverpool teammate Sadio Mané is ranked 13 in the world by FIFA.

Mané was instrumental in Senegal’s victory over Salah’s Egypt in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final. He’s someone everyone is looking forward to seeing at the World Cup now that he’s part of a dominant Bayern Munich squad.

Besides Mané, Kalidou Koulibaly, who is ranked 37 globally, and Édouard Mendy, who is ranked 47, are the other two Senegalese players that compete for Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Unlike Koulibaly, who joined the West London team more recently, Mendy has been Chelsea’s goalkeeper for a number of seasons. He has always delivered on his promises.

This led them to win the UEFA Champions League in 2021. Both players, along with Mané, demonstrated Senegal’s strength heading into the World Cup.

The top ten also includes several English Premier League stars, including five-time Premier League champion Riyad Mahrez, Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, and Liverpool defender Jo-El Matip.

Franck Yannick Kessié, an Ivorian midfielder for Barcelona, and Achraf Hakimi, a Moroccan defender for Paris Saint-Germain, are ranked seventh and eighth, respectively.
