Deputy President Paul Mashatile on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 engaged in a productive discussion with over 50 influential business leaders in Sandton.
The meeting, organised by The European House – Ambrosetti, aimed to strengthen the relationship between industry and government and promote a comprehensive approach to drive growth.
During the discussion, Deputy President Mashatile emphasised the need to boost investor confidence and attract foreign direct investment to South Africa.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to revitalising the economy and stressed the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing challenges and supporting businesses and disadvantaged communities.
The forum provided an opportunity for the Deputy President to collaborate with business leaders on critical areas for the country’s future and foster stronger ties between the government and private sectors based on mutual respect and shared interests.
Deputy President Mashatile also underscored the urgency of addressing obstacles in key economic areas such as energy, transport and logistics, and crime and corruption.
He expressed optimism about overcoming economic challenges and promoting inclusivity and sustainability for a brighter future for South Africa.
