Eskom says it will implement stage 2 load-shedding from 9:30 am on Monday until Saturday due to capacity constraints.
“White Eskom teams successfully returned one unit each to service at Kusile, Matimba and Arnot power stations within the early hours of Tuesday morning. Further delays in returning other units to service will heighten load-shedding and hamper replenishing the emergency generation reserves, “said Eskom.
In a statement, the Power Utility said it anticipates restoring service to Koeberg Unit 1 during the weekend, and five other units will be ready for service during the week.
In light of current capacity constraints, Eskom said some generation units are at risk of failure and cannot be attended to at this time.
