South Africa is on the brink of a new era of unity and collaboration with the announcement of a diverse cabinet, set to be sworn in on Tuesday.
This Government of National Unity (GNU) brings together representatives from a wide range of parties, including the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), and several others.
The cabinet reflects a commitment to inclusivity, with representatives from 12 parties.
The ANC leads the way, with Deputy President Paul Mashatile and 22 Ministers and 33 Deputy Ministers.
The DA also plays a key role, with 6 Ministers and 4 Deputy Ministers.
This collaborative approach marks a significant shift away from traditional party-based governance.
By bringing together Ministers and Deputy Ministers from various party backgrounds, the government is sending a strong message about its commitment to working together to address the nation’s challenges.
To further foster this spirit of cooperation, President Ramaphosa has announced a National Dialogue, bringing together political parties, civil society groups, labour, and business to find solutions to the country’s critical issues. This initiative aims to promote partnership and cooperation, moving the nation forward as a united whole.
“The aim is to foster a spirit of partnership and cooperation to address the nation’s challenges and move forward together towards brighter future,” said the President.
President Ramaphosa called on all South Africans to participate in the National Dialogue and support GNU as it embarks on its work.
