Brigadier Mojapelo said cops seized the murder weapon used during the shooting incident which occurred on April, 26.

“Nature Conservation members were alerted to the scene by gunshots,” said Brigadier Mojapelo.

According to police spokesperson, Nature Conservation members found the trio with two bags containing wild animal meat, one gemsbok, and hunting tools.

“As they escorted them towards a van, the men fled into different directions and disappeared into the bushes.

The police and medical emergency services certified Thutlwa dead when they arrived at the scene.

“It is not clear at this stage what led to the murder, but investigations are still continuing,” added Mojapelo.
