Land Rover unveils the Discovery Metropolitan Edition

Land Rover’s Metropolitan special edition has significantly strengthened the appeal of the Discovery, offering technologies that help improve comfort and convenience found in a seven-seat family SUV.

The Metropolitan Edition, Discovery’s top model, is equipped with a generous standard specification and upgrades to the exterior.

Powertrain choices include a gasoline P360 Ingenium with 48V Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology, and a diesel D300 Ingenium that is highly efficient.

“The Metropolitan Edition of the Land Rover Discovery adds a level of premium appeal to the vehicle, including an attractive exterior design to the R-Dynamic specification and a range of convenience-enhancing features,” said Land Rover Brand Director, Finbar McFall.

The New Metropolitan Edition

The new Metropolitan Edition is the pinnacle of Discovery’s family, adding Bright Atlas detailing for the grille and Discovery lettering to the purposeful R-Dynamic HSE specification.

It also comes with Hakuba Silver bumpers with gloss gray inserts, 22-inch Diamond Turned alloy wheels with Gloss Grey detailing, Black Land Rover brake calipers and a Sliding Panoramic Roof.

The interior features a Head-up Display, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a front cooler compartment, and four-zone climate control. The cabin also features mesh trim detailing.

The gloss black contrast roof now comes standard with the R-Dynamic models. The Discovery remains the most capable and versatile full-size SUV, thanks to its 3,500kg towing capacity and Advanced Tow Assist technology that provides reversing assistance.

Land Rover’s advanced Cabin Air Purification with PM2.5 air filtration1 is optional, which monitors the air quality inside and filters out harmful particulates for a healthier interior environment.

In South Africa, pricing for the Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition will be announced closer to the vehicle’s release.
