Lephalale Grade 12 pupil alleged murderers out on bail

Two suspects accused to have killed  a Grade 12 pupil, and injuring his father outside a tavern in Marapong township, Lephalale on November 5, were released on bail.

Ramadubu John Majadibodu and Lucky Matlhatsi  Monene, both 29 were each granted R5 000 bail during their fourth appearance in the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the case against the duo, facing charges of murder, attempted murder and assault GBH has been postponed to December 18, 2020.

Colonel Ngoepe said the stabbed 21-year-old Tielelo High School pupil was walking past the tavern near his home with his cousin when confronted by the suspects, accusing him of stealing a cellphone.

“An argument ensued. The cousin escaped after the suspects hit him with a hard object. The suspects continued to attack the pupil, in the process stabbed him all over his body with a sharp object.

The pupil also managed to escape but succumbed to multiple injuries sustained during the stabbing upon arrival at his home,” said Colonel Ngoepe, adding that the dead pupil’s father then rushed to the street to investigate what happened to his son when one of the suspects attempted to knock him down with a car.

He said police investigations are continuing.
