Lephalale shows a decline in COVID-19 active cases 

Limpopo has con­firmed 5 new coro­n­avirus cas­es in the past 24 hours.

Provin­cial Health MEC, Phophi Ramath­u­ba said that the five peo­ple test­ed pos­i­tive but did not show any symp­toms.
The MEC con­firmed that of the five cas­es, two were test­ed pos­i­tive at the Anglo-Amer­i­can min­ing field in Thabaz­im­bi in the Water­berg region, and the oth­er two were record­ed in Polok­wane in the Capri­con dis­trict .

She added that Fatako­mo Tubat­se’s Steelpoort mine in Sekhukhune dis­trict also con­firmed anoth­er case. So far, a total of 55 cas­es of  coro­n­avirus have been report­ed in the Sekhukhune area.

The MEC said: “The case assigned to Polok­wane on Sun­day has been reas­signed to the Vhem­be dis­trict.”

Sta­tis­tics from Lep­ha­lale, the epi­cen­ter of the Water­berg dis­trict, show that the num­ber of active cas­es has dropped sig­nif­i­cant­ly.

Among the 12 cumu­la­tive cas­es, there were 10 cas­es of Lep­ha­lale, which dropped from 6 cas­es in May 20 to 2 cas­es in May25.

To date, the num­ber of deaths in the Water­berg dis­trict has been zero.

So far, the province has record­ed a total of 130 cas­es, as fol­lows
