Lephalale shows a decline in COVID-19 active cases 


Limpopo has confirmed 5 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.

Provincial Health MEC, Phophi Ramathuba said that the five people tested positive but did not show any symptoms.
The MEC confirmed that of the five cases, two were tested positive at the Anglo-American mining field in Thabazimbi in the Waterberg region, and the other two were recorded in Polokwane in the Capricon district .

She added that Fatakomo Tubatse’s Steelpoort mine in Sekhukhune district also confirmed another case. So far, a total of 55 cases of  coronavirus have been reported in the Sekhukhune area.

The MEC said: “The case assigned to Polokwane on Sunday has been reassigned to the Vhembe district.”

Statistics from Lephalale, the epicenter of the Waterberg district, show that the number of active cases has dropped significantly.

Among the 12 cumulative cases, there were 10 cases of Lephalale, which dropped from 6 cases in May 20 to 2 cases in May25.

To date, the number of deaths in the Waterberg district has been zero.

So far, the province has recorded a total of 130 cases, as follows
