Lephalale’s infrastructure maintenance may cause water taps to run dry

Dry Tap

Lephalale Municipality has warned residents about a planned maintenance program that would cause massive water disruption in town and surrounding areas.

Municipality Spokesperson, Conscious Chiloane said they expect the repairs to disrupt water supply from September, 21 until October 9, 2020.

Chiloane said: “Because of the cleaning of reservoirs and repairs of other water supply systems, there may be water interruptions in some areas in and around town.”

Reservoirs and pumping stations in need of reconstruction are Rupert in the CBD, Phalala in Onverwhact, Marapong, and Witpoort Command in Ga-Seleka.

“Municipality urges the community not to panic and calls on all consumers to be aware of the current situation, to store and use this scares commodity sparingly. We apologise for any inconvenience the disruption might cause, “added Chiloane.
