Life With Kelly Khumalo is back with Season 2 episodes now streaming every Thursday on Showmax. Season 2 first episode is going to be about Kelly’s visit to a therapist, and it’s going to be a fascinating one.
Watch the S2 trailer:
Kelly consulted a professional to treat her condition, with her mother, Ntombi Khumalo, who moved out of Kelly’s house and headed for KwaZulu-Natal without notice in Season 1 on her side.
“I have been seeing a therapist for years and I saw what that has done for me,” Kelly told us. “When it’s just the two of us trying to sort things out, it never amounts to anything, except us, misunderstanding each other further. So a trained third party will make a big difference.”
In season I, the household name, and one of South Africa’s biggest music stars didn’t shy away from her various controversies. Some of these included her relationship with her son’s father, hip hop star, Jub Jub, the death of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, and her divorce from her sister, Zandile.
Following its launch in August 2020, Season 1 became the quickest Showmax Original to reach one million views.
Trading on #1 on Twitter, users hailed the half-hour show as “explosive” by Chrizelda Kekana on Timeslive, while The Star’s Debashine Thangevelo added that it “pulls no punches… one of the best celeb-driven reality shows I’ve watched in a while.
Just finished watching #LifeWithKellyKhumalo – I laughed at some moments, teared up at some moments. It breaks my heart seeing @KellyKhumaloZA breaking down about how much of bullies we are. It is easy to hide behind your phone and hurt someone with words. 😪

“In my years, I’ve realized that as much as we plan, God has a better plan for all of us”
I can’t wait to binge the rest of the episodes. Tonight!

My favourite thing about #LifeWithKellyKhumalo so far has been getting to know Kelly’s children. If adults on the internet weren’t so vile I would say she must make them baby influencers. I’d support whatever they’re doing. I truly wish them well 🙏🏽♥️

“The woman at the heart of it is independent, feisty and a tour de force.”
Life With Kelly also offered viewers an intimate look at Kelly, who juggled her music career and her family life.
The therapy session brings both to tears.
But while Ntombi is back, now it’s Kelly’s close friend Wanda Baloyi who’s missing, living her best life in Mozambique. “It’s quite lonely without her,” Kelly admits in episode 1. When Wanda says she’s not sure when she’s coming back, Kelly asks, “Chommie, should I audition for a new friend?”
Next week, Life With Kelly Khumalo Season 1 is up for a South African Film and Television Award for Best Soap Structured Reality TV Show, where its only competition is from two other Showmax Originals: Lebo M – Coming Home and Somizi & Mohale: The Union.
