Merciless Paulinah Mothokoa Monyebodi 48, of Olievenhoutbosch, south-west of Pretoria, found herself in hot water.
This follows her devious plan in the wake of approaching a stranger in the street and asked him for help in secretly burying her husband, whom she had allegedly poisoned and killed four days prior.
Monyebody offered the stranger a free stay in her house in exchange for help.
Despite her attempt to conceal the near decomposition of her husband’s body, which had been lying in the house for some time, the man pretendent to accept offer, instead called the police.
Startling story unfolded on Tuesday when Monyebodi appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court to face a charge of premeditated murder.
Pretoria NPA Regional Spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana said it is alleged that on the morning of April 18, 2023, she had approached the man on the street, telling him that she had poisoned her husband four days earlier and needed his help to dig a ditch and bury the body.
Mohanyana said Monyebodi offered the man free stay at her house, in exchange for help with burying the body, but the man’s response was to report the crime to the authorities.
The case is remanded to April 28, 2023, for further investigations and for bail application.
