A heinous act of superimposing  President Cyril Ramaphosa, Police Minister Bheki Cele, and his wife faces onto explicit images of unknown people has led to the arrest of a 34-year-old suspect.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Philani Nkwalase confirmed these pornographic images were shamelessly circulated among police officers and on various social media platforms. This caused outrage and disgust among the public.

Col. Nkwalase said the suspect was successfully tracked down and arrested in Azalea, Pietermaritzburg.

He said the combined efforts of the Gauteng Crimes Against the State and the Pietermaritzburg-based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation teams led to the arrest of this depraved individual on Sunday.

The suspect will now face the consequences of his actions as he appears in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday. He is charged with violating the Cyber Crime Act 19 of 2020.
