Mente nominated as Speaker unopposed

The African Transformation Movement (ATM) and the United Democratic Movement (UDM) have joined forces to nominate Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) National Chairperson Veronica Mente for the position of Speaker of Parliament.

This unexpected move, ATM leader Vuyo Zungula nominated  Mente seconded by UDM leader Bantu Holomisa.

This historic nomination signals a significant shift in the political landscape, as opposition parties put aside their differences to potentially reshape Parliament ‘s balance of power.

As a prominent EFF member, Mente’s nomination by ATM and UDM may pave the way for a coalition building effort across party lines, marking a new era in South African politics.
