Mercedes-AMG new ultra-compact sports car has landed in South Africa and is preparing to establish a leading position in its market segments.

The new compact Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC + hatch cover and CLA 45 S 4MATIC + have outstanding performance, driving dynamics, and expressive design.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8G transmission with two clutches: agile and responsive
The standard transmission is an eight-speed DCT. The standard RACE-START function allows maximum acceleration from a standing start. Those who prefer to change gears on their own can select the manual transmission mode in each driving program.
It includes All-wheel drive as standard in the AMG TORQUE CONTROL in the new rear axle differential: It has two electronically controlled multi-disc clutches, each linked to a drive shaft on the rear axle. Suspension: Special components for a very dynamic steering
The new AMG suspension with spring-specific elements and new frequency selective shock absorbers forms the basis for very stable direction and very dynamic cornering characteristics with a low tendency to roll. It improves comfort over the previous model. The AMG RIDE CONTROL optional adaptive damping system allows the driver to choose between three different chassis control modes, from comfortable to sporty focus.
High-performance braking system: light and reliable
The highly efficient braking system offers light-resistant acceleration and a short braking distance. On the main model, the 4-piston Monoblock brake caliper with the front axle continues to work on the 350 x 34mm brake discs, while the 1-piston, 1-piston floating brake caliper on the rear axle operates on the 330 x 22mm brake discs. Act. The discs are internally ventilated and perforated to better dissipate heat and prevent brakes from fading, even with extreme use. The optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package features a larger brake system with 6-piston fixed calipers and 360 x 36 mm brake discs at the front.
AMG exhaust system: with exhaust cover for sound modulation
One highlight of AMG’s management is the unmistakable sound of the engine. The exhaust system has a valve in the exhaust system which is controlled automatically depending on the engine speed and load. Depending on the drive program selected, it modulates sound from balanced and muted (in Slippery, Comfort, and Sport modes) to emotional and sporty (in Sport + or RACE).
With AMG Real Performance Sound as an option, the sound becomes more emotional and you can define how the turbo engine sounds inside. With the press of a button, you can choose between smooth, sporty sound (BALANCED) and emotional motorsport sound (POWERFUL).
Interior: a close symbiosis between humans and machines
With sports events and the MBUX infotainment system, the high-quality interior creates a close personal connection between humans and machines. MBUX creates a closer connection between the car, the driver, and the passenger. Users can choose from three AMG display types for the instrument cluster: Classic, Sports, and Supersport. Supersport Mode is impressive with the center circular tachometer and additional information in the form of bars on the left and right of the tachometer. With a three-dimensional perspective, they reach deep into the background into artificial horizons.

For those who drive on racetracks, AMG TRACK PACE, virtual race engineer, is standard equipment for the S model.
