The uMkhonto weSizwe Party Youth League (MKPYL) has closed ranks around Floyd Shivambu, its newly appointed National Organiser, in the face of scathing criticism from detractors.
“We stand in solidarity with Comrade Shivambu as he takes on this critical role,” said Nkateko Mkhabela, Head of Media and Communications for the MKP.
“He is a true revolutionary leader who has taken an unpopular posture to advance the revolutionary agenda.”
Mkhabela lambasted the criticism as “toxic” and “misguided”, saying it reflects a deep-seated fear of progressive forces reshaping the political landscape.
“We will not be derailed by those resistant to change,” Mkhabela said.
“Comrade Shivambu’s leadership represents a new era in our movement – one of bold political strategy, unwavering commitment to the people, and a clear vision for the future.”
The MKPYL has called on all progressive forces to recognise the strategic importance of Shivambu’s appointment and support him in building a stronger, more united organisation.
“We urge all members to remain focused, politically astute, and united in our common purpose,” Mkhabela said.
“Together, we will drive the change our people so desperately need.”
