“More Boots on the Ground”: Limpopo Police launches festive season crime crackdown

Limpopo Police will on Thursday [today] launch a massive crime combating operation under the theme; “More Boots on the Ground to enhance Police Visibility”.

During the festive season, officers in blue will expand their footprint across the province to ensure citizens’ safety.

The Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the launch at N1 South next to Shell Ultra City, Polokwane would be characterized by a parade.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe is expected to hand over the Operational Plan to Florence Radzilane, the MEC for Transport and Community Safety.

“Other relevant stakeholders will be involved in the multidisciplinary operations immediately after the official programme,” said Col Ledwaba.

Meanwhile, police in Lephalale conducted a Safe Festive Season campaign on Tuesday, targeting shopping malls, filling stations, bus terminals and taxi ranks. This was to raise awareness of shoplifting, robberies, and counterfeit money.
