Polokwane drug dealer behind bars

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Polokwane in possession of  Ecstasy and Mushroom drugs with an estimated street value of R20.000.

The suspect will appear in Polokwane Magistrates Court on Monday, according to Limpopo Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

“An arrest was made on Friday at the suspect’s rented town house in Mopani Park, Bendor Suburb outside Polokwane for allegedly dealing and possessing drugs of potential street value of R20.000 like Ecstasy and Mushroom,” said Brigadier Mojapelo.

Brigadier Mojapelo said the Provincial Organized Crime Narcotic and Crime Intelligence Units have conducted a joint surveillance of the alleged drug syndicate operations for quite some time, until an arrest was made.

Major General Jan Scheepers, acting provincial police commissioner, commended the unit’s  commitment to rooting out the drug epidemic that has now spread to Polokwane’s affluent suburbs.

Brigadier Mojapelo said police investigations are continuing.
