SACP supports UN call to end Israeli oppression

The South African Communist Party applauds United Nations (UN) resolution condemning Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories
In a groundbreaking move, the United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution calling for an immediate end to the Israeli regime’s illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.
In a statement on Thursday, the South African Communist Party (SACP) has praised this resolution as a significant milestone in the fight for justice and human rights.

With 124 states voting in favor, the resolution not only condemns the unlawful occupation but also demands reparations for the Palestinian people who have suffered immensely under Israeli rule.

The International Court of Justice has also deemed Israel’s presence in these territories as unlawful and has called for immediate termination.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is dire, with over 41,000 Palestinians losing their lives since the genocidal offensive began in October 2023.
The SACP stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people as they continue to endure malnutrition, dehydration, and disease.

The SACP National Spokesperson,Alex Mohubetswane Mashilo,emphasised,
“We vehemently denounce the apartheid Israeli settler regime’s actions and reaffirm our unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle for freedom and human rights.”

The SACP’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people underscores their dedication to justice and equality for all.

The UN General Assembly’s resolution serves as a beacon of hope for the Palestinian people, assuring them that the world stands with them in their fight for freedom and human rights.
