Stellenbosch University is rattled by allegations of racism and rape incident.
The Management of the University said it was deeply distressed to learn of an alleged case of rape on its Stellenbosch Campus.
Stellenbosch University said on Thursday that a student would be suspended from his residence pending the outcome of an investigation into the alleged rape incident.
“The victim filed a complaint with the police, who accompanied her to the Stellenbosch Provincial Hospital, where she was examined and given the necessary medication, care, and primary counselling.”

This comes after Babalo Ndwayana, a first-year black agricultural student at the University whose belongings were urinated in his room in the wee hours of Sunday morning, filed a criminal complaint against the suspect, Theuns Du Toit.
The university said it condemns all forms of crime and any infringement on human rights including gender-based violence in the strongest possible terms.

Klopper reiterated that there is absolutely no place in our society or on our campuses for acts of violence.
He said the victim in question has been affected by trauma and has been the subject of counselling.
