Two suspects accused of murdering a Grade 12 pupil in Marapong last Thursday appeared at the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Ramabudu John Majadibodu and Lucky Matlhatsi Monene, both 29-years -old, arrested shortly after the incident are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and assault, grievous bodily harm.
The court denied them bail.
The court has postponed their case to November 11, 2020, for a formal bail, pending a further police investigation.
Colonel Ngoepe said the stabbed 21-year-old pupil at Tielelo High School was walking past the tavern near his home with his cousin when confronted by the suspects, accusing him of stealing a cellphone.
“An argument ensued. The cousin escaped after the suspects hit with a hard object. The suspects continued to attack the pupil, in the process stabbed him all over his body with a sharp object.
The pupil also managed to escape but succumbed to multiple injuries sustained during the stabbing upon arrival at his home,” said Colonel Ngoepe, adding that one suspect attempted to knock down the dead pupil’s father who went out to investigate what was happening before the suspects flee the scene.
He said police investigations are continuing.
