Convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, on Friday, under heavy police guard. Bester, dubbed Facebook rapist and murderer, is facing charges of escaping from lawful custody, defeating the ends of justice, violation of a dead body, and fraud.
His case was postponed 16 May for further investigations.
He was serving a life sentence imprisonment at the time of his escape.
His accomplice, the disgraced Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, appeared in the same court on Thursday, facing slew of charges, including being an accomplice in aiding and abetting in the escape of Bester from lawful custody.
Dr. Magudumana appeared alongside Teboho James Lipholo, a G4S technician who oversaw the CCTV cameras in the administration wing of the Mangaung Correctional Centre when Bester escaped from prison.
Their case was postponed to April 17, for a further investigations and possible bail application.
