Toyota Fortuner’s new editions on offer

Toy­ota has made an upturn to its South Africa top-sell­ing SUV- Toy­ota Fortuner–with new edi­tions, For­tuner Epic for 2020.

The car­mak­er said the two edi­tions are on offer, each based on the 2.8‑litre GD‑6 deriv­a­tives: the ‘stan­dard’ For­tuner Epic and For­tuner Epic Black.

“Con­struct­ed at the rock-steady basis of its Hilux sta­ble­mate, this 7‑seater SUV has showed that its com­bi­na­tion of beau­ty, off-road com­pe­ten­cy and those-haul­ing capac­i­ty, suits the South African lifestyle. As the name implies, the Epic Black utilis­es black accents to up the ante visu­al­ly,” Toy­ota said in a state­ment on Thurs­day.

Exte­ri­or fit­ment

The auto has an exte­ri­or fit­ment of a brand-name nudge-bar and tow bar.

Epic Black mod­els boasts a black roof, black roof rails, black aspect-view mir­rors and pre­cise, all-black 18-inch alloy wheels.

These high-con­trast fac­tors are best com­bin­ing with Glac­i­er White paint­work at the Epic Black to cre­ate a mod­i­fi­ca­tion pos­i­tive to impress on each bush and boule­vard con­sumers.

The auto­mo­bile could have epic edi­tions in Glac­i­er White, Chromi­um Sil­ver, Graphite grey or Avant-Garde Bronze.

Inte­ri­or addi­tions

The car­mak­er added a touch of class with met­al scuff plates and Epic-brand­ed car­pet set.

The usu­al  For­tuner lux­u­ries apply right here, such as the leather-inte­ri­or and soft touch-dash­board trim.

The inte­ri­or lay­out remains as con­sis­tent with cut­ting-edge, with improved 2nd and fold-up third row seat­ing.

Stan­dard spec­i­fi­ca­tion

The usu­al array of 2.8 For­tuner spec­i­fi­ca­tion items apply, such as dual-zone cli­mate con­trol, smart entry and push start, touch­screen info­tain­ment gad­get with nav­i­ga­tion, reverse cam­era, TFT Mul­ti-infor­ma­tion Disply (MID), blue Optitron instru­men­ta­tion, cruise con­rtrol, steer­ing switch­es, elec­tric­i­ty-adjustable dri­ver seat and pow­er back door.

Dri­ver-aid Sys­tems          

It equips all For­tuner fash­ions with ABS, TRC, VSC, BAS, EBD and Hill begin help (HAC).

The 4‑wheel-dri­ve fash­ions func­tion Toyota’s A‑TRAC off-road trac­tion con­trol com­mon sense and Down­hill assist man­age (DAC), to make nav­i­gat­ing bar­ri­ers a breeze. ‘On-the-fly’ selec­table 2WD/4WD/4 wheel dri­ve Lo modes fur­ther upload to over touch­down con­ve­nience.

All For­tuner mod­els are sold with a 6‑services/90 000 km ser­vice plan and 3‑year/100 000 km war­ran­ty.

Ser­vice inter­vals for the diesel mod­els are 10 000 km, while the petrol mod­el is set at 15 000 km.

Cus­tomers can also choose from a vari­ety of ser­vice plan exten­sions at their local deal­er.
