Toyota Land Cruiser receives major upgrade

Popular Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been given  a major upgrade with greater power, torque and new multimedia technology.

The core of the revised range is the new generation GD-6 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, which can obtain an additional 20 kW of power and 50 Nm of torque, which is now only connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Prado’s landing and towing data uses a more efficient engine, which now produces 150 kW of maximum power and 500 Nm in a larger range of 3400 rpm and 1600 to 2800 rpm.

The latest generation of the 2.8 GD-6 engine (which has been upgraded in the latest Hilux) has undergone many upgrades, including a new ball bearing turbocharger with a larger turbine and impeller, as well as improved engine stiffness and cooling performance .

By optimizing the piston and piston ring, replacing the cylinder block and cylinder head, increasing the fuel injection flow rate and carrying out efficient material acceptance of the exhaust manifold, fuel can be better saved.

Despite higher performance, fuel consumption has increased to 7.9 liters/100 km, and carbon dioxide emissions have increased to 209 g/km.

The fuel volume is 150 liters, the main fuel tank is 87 liters, and the auxiliary fuel tank is 63 liters. Increased the maximum braking force of the 2.8 model to 3,000 kg

This series of products includes a new generation of multimedia systems, which now includes a larger 9-inch (previously 8-inch) touch screen display, better voice recognition and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Customers can use mobile services such as Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, SoundCloud, etc. Enhance their driving style-provide an enhanced phone and messaging interface on the go.
