Fair Play, the global music movement amplifying youth voices through powerful protest music, is making its debut in South Africa and is searching for an epic anti-corruption anthem.
In collaboration with Corruption Watch and with support from the European Union Delegation to South Africa, the Enhancing Accountability Technical Assistance Facility presents the Ngeke! Festival, showcasing young voices against injustice and corruption.
This event is more than just art and culture – it is a call to action.
South Africa’s artists are urged to give voice to those who are fed up with corruption. It’s time to say Ngeke and stand up against ongoing corruption.
Musicians between the ages of 18 and 35 from across South Africa can submit original songs addressing corruption, inequality, and injustice.
Two acts will be selected to perform at the festival, opening for renowned South African headliners and each will receive R10,000.
Selected artists will also receive mentorship and networking opportunities to shape their message.
The highlight of the event is a high-profile festival on December 6, 2025, at Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg, in honour of International Anti-Corruption Day.
This is a chance for the youth of South Africa to make their voices heard and stand united against corruption. Submissions close October 15, with finalists announced November 1 ahead of the main event expected 5,000-strong audience.
