A daring Tanzanian man, Kuma Risase IDDI 50, tried to pull a fast one at the Groblersburg border post near Tomburke outside Lephalale.
He was allegedly trying to smuggle dagga worth a whopping R2 million! but got caught red-handed by the vigilant police officers on duty.
The arrest went down on a Tuesday night, around 10:00 pm, when the officers stopped a suspicious white van traveling from Cape Town to Botswana.
Thirty bags of dagga, weighing a jaw-dropping 629.49 kg with the street value of well over R2 million stashed in the white Iveco panel van were seized.
The vehicle valued at over R300, 000, was also impounded as part of the investigation.
Risase is cooling his heels at the Tomburke Police Station, awaiting his day in court.
He made his first appearence before the Witpoort Magistrates Court on Thursday, and he applying for bail on April 3,2024
