Woolworths Tops South Africa Trust Rankings for Third Consecutive Year

CAPE TOWN — South African retail giant Woolworths Holdings Ltd has secured its position as the country’s most trusted company for a third consecutive year, ranking among Newsweek’s “World’s Most Trustworthy Companies” in a global survey evaluating customer, investor, and employee confidence.

The 2025 list, compiled through 200,000 evaluations and social media analysis of 500,000 online mentions, highlights brands excelling in product quality, reputation, and customer experience.

 Newsweek Editor-in-Chief Jennifer H. Cunningham noted 87% of consumers globally pay premium prices for trusted brands.

“This recognition reflects decades of commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability,” said Woolworths CEO Roy Bagattini, citing recent accolades including Brand Africa’s Grand Prix Award for its purpose-driven initiatives.

The retailer also ranked among South Africa’s top three “Most Recommended Brands” by insights firm KLA this year
