In a passionate declaration, ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula outlined his vision for the Seventh Administration, placing job creation at the forefront of the party’s agenda. Speaking at Mohlakeng Old Age Home in the West Rand, Mbalula emphasised the importance of striking a perfect balance to move South Africa towards industrialisation.
Shifting focus towards industrialisation
Mbalula said ANC primary goal is to shift the focus from exporting raw materials to assembling goods within South Africa for export purposes. This strategic shift is aimed at creating a whopping 2.5 million job opportunities, thus boosting the country’s economy and addressing the growing unemployment rate.

Mbalula firmly believes that the industrial sector will flourish as more industries are established and a comprehensive job creation program is launched. By investing in industrialisation, the ANC aims to provide sustainable livelihoods for millions of South Africans, especially the youth who are currently facing social and economic challenges.
Addressing social security challenges
Acknowledging the pressing issue of social security, Mbalula called for urgent action to address the struggles faced by the youth, including dropouts, early pregnancies, and shattered dreams. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to empower young individuals and provide them with opportunities to thrive and succeed in a competitive job market.
Engaging with ANC veterans and the elderly
During his campaign trail in the West Rand, Mbalula engaged with ANC veterans and the elderly at the Westonaria Sports Complex. He highlighted the importance of honoring the contributions and sacrifices made by those who have dedicated their lives to the liberation struggle, promising to work towards creating a better future for all South Africans.
Empowering matriculants through skills training
At Swaneville in the West Rand, Mbalula met with youths who have completed matric but are still struggling to find employment.
He announced plans to provide training opportunities in the SANDF and Youth Service, enabling these individuals to acquire valuable skills and become self-sufficient.Â
