“Cracking down on drug trafficking: Nigerian national busted packaging drugs”

A 34-year-old man was arrested for drug possession at Flora Park in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of R75, 000, were found at his residence on Wisteria Street.

Limpopo police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba confirmed police received a tip about the suspect, a Nigerian national, and caught him ‘ red handed’  packaging the drugs on December 21 at around 4pm.

Brigadier Mashaba said confiscated items included 7 large bags of heroin, 18 sachets of crystal meth, and 15 tablets of mandrax  with a street value estimated at R75 000.

The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the police for their efforts in removing drugs from the streets.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on December 27, 2023, to face charges of drug possession and dealing.
