Flying high: Checkers takes grocery retail to new heights

The South African grocery retail powerhouse , Checkers, has spread its wings—quite literally—by unveiling a uniquely branded aircraft.

Adorned with the catchy “Sixty60” on its exterior and “Checkers” boldly displayed beneath, this eye-catching plane made its debut appearance at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday, October 24.

In partnership with the acclaimed airline LIFT, the striking teal Airbus A320 completed its inaugural journey between Johannesburg and Cape Town at 10 AM on the same day.

The retail titan announced plans to provide regular flights connecting Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town throughout this summer season.

In an exciting update released on Friday, Checkers informed aviation fans and plane enthusiasts that the aircraft, operated by LIFT, can be tracked online using its registration number, ZS-GAS.

This holiday season, Checkers is poised to introduce something extraordinarily special, aimed at uniting cherished family members. Stay tuned for the upcoming revelations!
